What’s happenin’ hot stuff? Not it’s not 1984, but the owners of the house from the film Sixteen Candles have put their stunning house on the market.
The interiors of the six-bedroom property in the Chicago suburb of Evanston have been refreshed to create a modern family home.

The sleek kitchen with its stone benches and the chalk wall in the adjacent breakfast room plus the outdoor kitchen with wooden furniture and a fireplace are just some of the more modern features.

Located on a tree-lined street and set over three storeys, the house was used as the home of teen Samantha Baker (played by a 15-year-old Molly Ringwald) in the hit 1984 film.
The film’s title refers to the Baker family forgetting Sam’s birthday due to her sister’s upcoming wedding.
In the film the teenager has a pink bedroom on the top floor with her posters hanging on the wall next to where the roof slopes:
From what we can gather that room is now painted a lovely shade of dove grey:

The house is on the market with an asking price of $US1.499 million in a neighbourhood where the median price is $US355,000.
Investment banker Stephen Miles and his wife currently own the property and have raised their children in the iconic home.
The house was built in 1931 and it last sold for $US1.25 million in 2006.
