The actress was known for her tumultuous personal life, with marriages to actor Mickey Rooney, band leader Artie Shaw and Sinatra.
She also had friendships with Ernest Hemingway and famed recluse Howard Hughes, as documented in the movie The Aviator.
She is best known for her roles in On The Beach, The Killers and Show Boat.
The house is for sale through KBRE Los Angeles for $US1.9 million
