The Hollywood Hills home of screen siren Ava Gardner has hit the market.
The mid-century house was designed by Los Angeles architect Ed Fickett and it boasts three bedrooms and three bathrooms. It is set on a generous 900sqm allotment.

The home also features walls of glass and iconic 1950s ‘driftwood stone’ in the spacious living and dining area.
Sliding glass doors from the living area lead to a sunny outdoor balcony.
The modern kitchen has white cabinetry with a 1950s-style banquette for informal dining.
A large grassy yard comes complete with a tree house.
While Gardner’s former husband Frank Sinatra reportedly attended parties at the house, the glamour couple’s marriage had ended when she lived in the house.
The actress was known for her tumultuous personal life, with marriages to actor Mickey Rooney, band leader Artie Shaw and Sinatra.
She also had friendships with Ernest Hemingway and famed recluse Howard Hughes, as documented in the movie The Aviator.
She is best known for her roles in On The Beach, The Killers and Show Boat.
The house is for sale through KBRE Los Angeles for $US1.9 million
